Description: The active ingredient of our MSM is ultrapure
food supplement grade, 99.9% dimethyl sulfone.
Purpose: Proposed anti-inflammatory analgesic agent. Indications and usage: MSM has been used to treat the following conditions; athletic injuries, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, interstitial cystitis, thermal and radiation burns, fibromyalgia, lupus and more. How supplied: Dietary supplement or topical gel. Our MSM is designed and marketed to be pharmaceutically pure. It contains no fillers, extenders, binders or any other additives, as contained in capsules and tablets. The MSM Solution (liquid) is convenient to use and readily lends itself to absorption through the mucous membranes of the mouth and pharynx (throat). Contraindications: None reported. Note: There is no relation between sufla drugs and dietary sulfur as found in MSM. Precautions: Insufficient information is available on using MSM during pregnancy and lactation. Avoid use if you are pregnant, think you may become pregnant or are breast feeding. Interactions/ Reactions: Oral MSM increases gastrointestinal peristalisis. Secondary to this, mild gastro-intestinal disturbance or an increased frequency of stool may develop. MSM has been clinically tested for over 30 years. To date, there has not been a single documented allergic reaction to its use. No interactions are known to occur with any other foods, drugs, herbs or dietary supplements. There is no odor with MSM regardless of the route of administration. Clinical pharmacology: MSM can persist in serum for longer than 2 weeks. MSM is excreted in the urine and feces unchanged. Overdosage: MSM is rated as one of the least toxic substances in biology. The lethal dose (LD-50) in mice is over 20gm/kg. When given to human volunteers, no toxic effects were observed at intake levels up to one gm/kg of body weight per day for 30 days. Administration: Oral MSM is taken by mouth 2 times daily with meals. Topical MSM is applied to the skin 2 to 4 times daily. Physical Characteristics: MSM is a clear, colorless, and odorless crystalline solid at room temperature. It has the empirical formula of C2H6O2S, and a molecular weight of 94.13.
